Austin Area Prepares for Inaugural Golf Galaxy Golf Tour Event
In its 3rd year of National expansion, the Golf Galaxy Golf Tour is the #1 Amateur Golf Tour in the country. Operating 50 tours in over 60 cities, this Tour is for everyone.


    /Minnesota News Articles/ - EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, April 23, 2008 - The Austin chapter of the Golf Galaxy Golf Tour, tees it up for its inaugural Tour Season this weekend at Falconhead Golf Club of Austin.

The tour is designed to give average golfers the opportunity to experience the fun, friendly competition of tournament golf at a variety of great local courses.

Alicia Parrish, Local Tour Director, is excited about the growth of the tour. "This is the first golf tour that caters to the average golfer. Events are flighted so every team has a chance to win every time they tee it up, and with the addition of the Callaway Golf Tour i Series Golf Ball Challenge it is event better." Parrish said.

The tour offers more than $1,000 in prizes (with full field) per event and a point system that crowns a "Player of the Year". The National Tour Championship is slated for late September in Las Vegas.
