Fundraising Conference Great Success: Strong feedback at national seminar for healthcare development professionals
/Minnesota News Articles/ - MINNEAPOLIS, MN, September 17, 2008 - Development Dialogues released the evaluations of its Campaigns: Planning to Execution and Success seminar and reported strong results. The conference, held in Arlington, Virginia from September 10 to 12th, included attendees from Weill School of Medicine, Georgetown Medical School, UCLA, Sharp Healthcare and many other prestigious healthcare institutions and causes.
The presenters included Tracey Atwater, President of Wellstar Foundation, Bruce Flessner, partner at the national fundraising consulting firm of Bentz Whaley Flessner, John Lehr, Vice President of Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Patricia Porter, Vice President of the Minnesota Medical Foundation. Melanie Vlaich, conference coordinator, reported that "The presenters received strong evaluations."
"There will definitely be an annual workshop on campaigns after the success of this effort. There is great interest now in planning a second seminar for the west coast," Vlaich announced. She noted that having presenters with years of experience at major academic medical centers, community hospitals, consulting firms, national health causes and children's hospitals all contributed to the success of the workshop.
Participants looked at how changes in the philanthropic environment—from economic challenges to shifting donor attitudes—are shaping campaigns. They also studied the growth of major gifts and its impact on comprehensive campaigns for hospitals, health causes, academic medical centers and other health related not for profit organizations.
Development Dialogues helps development officers working at healthcare and medical institutions and causes through seminars, workshops, webinars and other training programs.
