Advanced User Security Mapping bridges the gap between Oracle UCM security and enterprise security models.

Advanced User Security Mapping extends the basic Oracle UCM / LDAP and Active Directory (AD) integration by allowing companies to use additional information from their user directories to secure content in UCM, including user attributes and organizational units (the basic integration supports interpreting group membership only). Version 6.0 adds support for single sign-on, allowing companies to now integrate UCM with their single sign-on product such as: CA Siteminder, Sun Access Manager, Tivoli Access Manager, Oracle's Identity Management Suite (formerly Entrust and Oblix), and others.

Single sign-on support improves the overall Oracle UCM user experience through a single sign in to company resources, versus needing to log in to each application and remember unique user ids and passwords. Advanced User Security Mapping 6.0 also helps organizations using UCM comply with corporate single sign-on standards.

Companies looking to integrate Oracle UCM with LDAP, AD, and single sign-on have had few choices - each requiring customization. This means a solution is not subject to a support contract and it requires custom consulting services to upgrade with each new version of UCM. Unlike other Oracle UCM components, a single sign-on integration is not written using the java-based Oracle UCM component architecture. Instead, the solution requires knowledge of web server and request processing in addition to a deep understanding of how UCM can be extended to take advantage of request information.
