Twin Cities Business Hosts Pet-Friendly Halloween Event to Benefit the Humane Society
Growing trend of costumed-pets finds its way into family-friendly store.

BLOOMINGTON, MN, October 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Halloween isn't just for the kids these days. Parents and adults have been taking part in the fun for years, but it is becoming more and more common for the family pet to don a costume and take to the streets for some good trick-or-treating.

This year, local pet-friendly furniture and toy store, Totally Kids in Bloomington (www.thebeanbagstore.com) , and the Humane Society want to see the best of the best when it comes to decked-out doggies and costumed cats. They're hosting the inaugural "Wag-O-Ween" party for all tail-wagging family members in the Twin Cities area on Halloween day, October 31st . A portion of all proceeds for the day will go to the Humane Society.

The event will be hosted at the Totally Kids store and all pets are of course welcome. Treats (no tricks) and door prizes will be offered to everyone, people and animals alike.

All families bringing in their pets in-costume will have the option to be professionally photographed and the pictures will be judged online via the Totally Kids business Facebook page. After voting has wrapped up, the winning entry will receive a "Pet's Eye View" prize pack courtesy of the store which includes a collar-attachable camera that gives owners the opportunity to see what their pet sees everyday through digital pictures. Humane Society members and volunteers are also encouraged to come in and receive a 10% discount at the store and visit with other pet-lovers from around the cities.

During the event, all customers are welcome to take a professional photograph with their family pet and will be able to retrieve their photo through the Totally Kids Facebook page at no cost. All families bringing in their costumed pet will also receive a free $10 gift card courtesy of the store and 5% of purchases will be donated to the Humane Society.
